The country comes to the city starting today. The 104th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair opens Friday, November 6, at Exhibition Place in Toronto, and runs for ten days, through Sunday, November 15.

The Fair at a glance

The Royal is the world's largest combined indoor agricultural and equestrian show. It fills the Enercare Centre at 100 Princes' Boulevard and the Coca-Cola Coliseum, and organizers expect about 300,000 visitors over the run.

General admission starts at $34. The Royal has run every November since 1922, bringing champion livestock, growers and food producers into the middle of Toronto.

What is on

The Royal Horse Show anchors the Coliseum programme, alongside daily Royal Rodeos with bull riding and bronc events. The K9-Equine Challenge, a mechanical bull and a petting farm are part of this year's family programme.

The Holiday Market is larger this year, with artisan goods and seasonal food. Santa Claus stops by the market for photos from November 11 to 15.

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Toronto runs November 14, one of the biggest single events on the Fair's calendar. Canadian actress Amber Marshall emcees events through the run.

Food and learning

The Chef's Table dining series opens this weekend: Jason Bangerter cooks on November 6 and David Schwartz on November 7. Nuit Regular follows on November 12, Coulson Armstrong on November 13, and Zach Smith and Ben Lim close the series on November 14.

The University of Guelph is exhibiting through the Fair, with displays on agricultural technology, drones and plant breeding. Its programme includes a Women Leading Agricultural Innovation panel on Friday, November 6, at 4 p.m., and a Your Future in Food education symposium on November 12.

Getting there

The Fair's 2026 animal ambassadors, twin Angora goats Sugar and Spice, opened the week by riding the GO Train from Scarborough GO to Union Station on Thursday. Combination passes pairing GO travel with Fair admission are on sale for the run.

Visitors heading down this weekend should plan around transit changes: Line 2 shuttle buses replace subway service between St. George and Broadview stations. The Fair's full daily schedule is at royalfair.org.
