Ottawa's election results are official. The City Clerk certified the October 26 results on Friday, October 30, and the official count matches the unofficial figures published on election night: Mayor Mark Sutcliffe takes 139,354 votes, 44.65 per cent, to 105,819 votes, 33.90 per cent, for Jeff Leiper. Neil Saravanamuttoo finished third with 34,463 votes, 11.04 per cent, and Alex Lawson fourth with 23,605, 7.56 per cent. Turnout was 36.21 per cent.
The ward-by-ward data released with the certification shows the split that decided the race. Sutcliffe won 20 of Ottawa's 24 wards, carrying the outer suburbs by margins of 15 to 28 percentage points and the three rural wards by around 40 points. Leiper won four central wards. Two wards were decided by fewer than 110 votes each.
Turnout of 36.21 per cent is the lowest in an Ottawa mayoral election in more than two decades, down from 43.79 per cent in 2022. Sutcliffe's own vote share fell from 51.4 per cent in 2022 to 44.65 per cent.
The pledges Sutcliffe made to win the term are in The Record: property-tax increases held to no more than 2.5 per cent in each of the first two budgets, another $250 million in savings at city hall, and a $95 monthly transit pass. The new council term begins Sunday, November 15, 2026.
